We’re celebrating our first holiday together, physically together. Last year we were on different ends of the world, she was in OZ and I was still in Altanta. This year, we’re together in Australia and are in quite the festive atmosphere. Anna made a nice centerpiece from miscellaneous items she gathered while shopping for some holiday cheer to bring into our lives. I took it one step further and put it center stage in my home studio. As a good friend liked to describe this shoot, “Ten-thousand dollars in gear to shoot five bucks worth of stuff”. It was a blast.
I went about this over the course of a few days. Experiementing with the lighting set up all depending on what I had added into the subject. For starters, it was just the centerpiece.
I kept adding and adding more lights and colors until I got what I had pictured in my head.
A nice clean image that should probably be used in greeting crads. Love it, but I felt I needed to take it to another level. I went and pulled out a few pieces of my watch collection out and rearranged the studio accordingly.
The trickiest part wasn’t solving the lighting, but balancing the watch on those little paper boxes. I can’t even begin to tell you what a pain that was. In the end it was totally worth it to me. My Tissot Prince looks like it belongs in a catalog.
and my vintage Heuer Mareographe belongs in there too.
